In the year of 2312, a disease came into America from a foreign country. The disease was immune to animals of every kind. By 2325, it had wiped out all of North America and the sickness had traveled to Australia and South America. Country by country, continent by continent the disease had cleared each of every human.
In 2364, no humans were left on planet earth. The animals started living the life that they were before humans were created, living wild with no one to hunt them or interfere with their environment. Animals of all kinds, everywhere you look.

A white form lay on a flat-surfaced boulder, its kinked tail waving leisurely. The chilly winds buffeting the creature's side, it growled in annoyance at the discomfort it gave it.
The snow leopard was exhausted, and he found it very taxing to hunt in his current state. After all, the mountain prey required a lot of energy to seize, and that was something that he just did not have. Lifting himself off the gray-brown boulder, he padded carefully down. The leopard's shoulders and muscles moved smoothly with the rhythm of his slow stride; mouth open wile he went, keen for scents. Other senses alert as well, he was very careful, for no big cat wanted to suffer from a dangerous fall down these mountains. Blue eyes glowing in the brightness of the day, he paused.
It was wonderful how little he was disturbed these past years. While it may be considered boring and lonely, he didn't hate it all that much, for he wasn't too social. Although, of course he was always searching for company of any form.
Resuming his walk, his gait was still carefully measured as he padded through snow. It wasn't hard-packed or icy, but it was still a hassle to maneuver through. Whiskers twitching, he stopped once more, except this time for important reason. Before him was a sharp drop that cracked as if into the mountain's core itself. Shaking the premonition out of his mind, the snow leopard backed up several paces for precautionary reasons. Grunting with undisguised frustration, he looked up the fell and down. "Where do I go now, hm?" he growled to himself.

s a r e n t i x.the soft shuffles of big paws moved through the snow in a steady gait. her light honey eyes looked around in curiosity, she'd never been up in this part of the mountains before. her long tail swished across the soft snow, making wide scribbles. the jagged peaks of the himalayans caught the snow leopard's attention most. the mountains were a wondrous place, always full of mysterious things. a shiney metal material jutted out of the rocky terrian. what is that? she wondered as she bounded over to the metal piece. it was a dark grey with white on the top, giving it an effect of being shiney. it was dull and looked like it was cut out and thrown. metal pieces lie all around it. as she looked at the mysterious objects, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a bigger piece of metal. it was white a grey, mostly white, like the object that she found. her eyes grew winde with interest and fear. what was going on? she ran over to the bigger piece of metal, but more cautious this time. she kept her head low and her legs bunched up, ready to spring and run. the white metal had two wings and a tail with something that spinned in the wind on the end of it. the spinning thing looked like a flower. she found two more flower things, one on each wing. what was it? how long had it been here? she stopped and stared wide-eyed at the object.

With a split seemingly stabbing through the mountain's core itself, what is a snow leopard to do?
Ice blue eyes flashing, he paced back and forth, snow shuffling beneath his paws. Mouth slightly ajar and whiskers twitching, Mason looked directly at the drop, and then averted his gaze down. The mountain side went gradually down as it did everywhere else in the naturally made behemoth phenomenon. It was either scale down the jagged slopes, or climb up the jutting boulders to higher places. Not feeling up to more elevation, the white leopard decided on going down. Neck fur bristling, he felt the unsteady ground with his large paws and began to carefully descend.
All senses alert for other life (as rare as it was), and for falling stones that could trigger a small rockslide, he continued to pick his way down, until he paused. Four paws firmly on a flat boulder, Mason looked around. "What is that?" he growled slowly. He could have sworn he smelled something peculiar; it hadn't been washed out by the scent of snow yet, which meant it was very fresh. Curiosity tugging at his crooked tail, the big cat changed course and went sideways, neither going up nor down. Following the "path" of flats and stones, he picked up his pace. Now, he was anxious. It was the scent of another snow leopard; he could swear it was!
This wasn't his territory, and he wasn't all to sure anything like that was even set up around these parts of the cliffs, but he was antsy to see who was so close by. Trying to recall if he had caught a whiff of any scent markers that day, he continued to pad on. After thinking some choppy and disorganized thoughts, he came to the assumptions that this was probably just a lone cat traveling, and that it was probably female - since there were no aggressive border signs he could tell of. "Hmph, only males, I believe, are the ones who have the territory conundrums," he growled to himself, half scoldingly as if he wasn't even a male leopard himself.

s a r e n t i x.the fear drained out of her system after a while of staring at the big object. obiously, there was no danger. the big metal thing looked more like a bird than any other creature that she's seen. how long had it been dead? she stood and walked over the big bird, poking out a claw and touching the side of the bird. it was smooth at times, but rusty at others. it was very interesting. she still didn't know exactly what it was. bird, was one of her guesses. "hmm..." she rubbed her tail across the smooth suface with her long tail. she turned around as she scented another animal near. feline maybe? yep, definatly feline. as she reconized the scent, she heard someone growl not too far away- right down the hill? she sat and stared at the place where she heard the other feline. sari wasn't scared of it, unless it tried to attack her. she would fight back, but her fear would probably overpower her and she would flee. she ears pricked looking for the other feline.

Camouflaged in the bright and dark patterns of the mountains, a snow leopard padded on with bright blue eyes glowing.
In slow locomotion, Mason sauntered on four legs upwards toward the scent. He paused abruptly when his paw unexpectedly slipped into a groove-like foothold. He sniffed the dent in the rock instinctively after taking his paw out, and he blinked in vague confusion. Eyeing the ground warily, he noticed several other "dips," and on further inspection, they seemed to be made by something; they weren't natural as far as he could tell. Bewildered, he lifted his head in a serpentine-like movement, his ears pricking forward. He still had this she-leopard to worry about. Putting the footholds aside for the time being, he avoided them consciously as he continued upward.
Tail swishing subtly, he saw her form. Along with a bright glint; a color he hadn't really ever seen before. "Hm," he growled under his breath, very curious now of this feline and her apparent discovery. Taking a few more cautious paw steps forward, he stopped and waited. He didn't want to startle her, so he thought that being a good (yet not dramatic) distance away would be better in theory. "Hello - merhaba," he growled slowly, dipping his white head in greeting. He hoped that she could hear him; being lost in translation wasn't what he intended to do that day. Hopefully, she wouldn't find him threatening either.

x.the silvery female watched as another snow leopard entered the area. merhaba. what does that mean again? she went through her mind. oh. it just means hello."hello." she almost growled back. her long tail swished across the familiar rock below her as she eyed the leopard warily. "my name is sarenti." she introduced herself, not knowing what to say but that. "but just call me sari." giving out her nickname usually made the air less tense. sari, being a friendly little leopard, wanted to be friends with every animal she meets. so far, the tigers and the fox. she hadn't had a friend of her kind since she left her mother and brother. "what's your name?"

And my name would be...
"My name is Davin, Mason," he replied in a friendly tone, relaxed by how she seemed to not be getting ready to run or attack him. Taking a few paw steps forward, he sat down carefully, his crooked tail curling awkwardly close to his side. Shoulders tensionless and blue eyes non-menacing, Mason growled, "I have no alias, so just call me Mason." With a quick jerk of his head, he vaguely studied the bright object at Sari's paws. He turned his gaze back to her and said skeptically, "Do you know what that is?" It aroused his curiosity still, although he was more keen on the individual before him out of politeness.
His dense fur quivered while he was speaking; a small breeze had brushed the mountainside. It was a cold wind, but the leopard had endured through worse. His mind wandered slightly. Mason thought of how he hadn't spoken aloud like this for a while now, and he wouldn't be surprised if his growl sounded hoarse.

x.sari nodded as he spoke his name. mason. she played around with the name to get it into her head. "nice to meet you." the silvery leopard muttered. she looked at the shining thing in her paws and then shifted it to back behind her at the giant bird. {it's a plane by the way. xD} she stared at it for a few moments and then turned her light honey gaze back to the other leopard. "nope." she said has she toyed around with the shining thing in her paws. what is this? she thought. "do you know what it is?" she asked, looking back up to mason.

Such a strange peculiarity was standing before the snow leopard; he could not fathom its purpose.
Mason's ears twitched as he answered Sari, "I have no idea what it is. I've never seen something like that up here before." He was very curious of it, and also he was slightly wary. How she seemed able to touch it and not be affected was reassuring, but the male leopard didn't trust it. It looked unnatural. He was about to voice his thoughts but stopped himself. It wouldn't help to be superstitious and timid. Blue eyes gleaming brightly, he asked professionally, "How did you stumble upon this thing?" Although it wasn't his place to question someone he had just met, he felt obliged to inquiry when it came to the object.

x.the leopard thought about how she did come across the thing that she stood in front of. "i hadn't been to this part of the mountains, so i wanted to explore it." that's what she did come here for. "then i found this thing." she flicked her silver and black tail to the bigger object of metal. sari looked at the object in her paws and looked to the bird-looking thing. it looked like a piece of it? hmmm..... this was all very interesting to sari, and she was very curious about finding more about it. "this looks like it came from the bigger one." she murmured to mason, toying with the smaller metal again.

How peculiar, indeed.
Mason grunted, perplexed. "I suppose that would be the logical thing to infer," he growled placidly, betraying his confused thoughts. He coaxed himself into remembering that whatever it was was destroyed and incapable of causing harm, but it had a weird look to it. After all, with his prior knowledge he knew no rock - sediment or mineral - to have a metallic sheen to it. It was alien to these parts, he was sure of though, and it made him feel alienated. "It's no rock, no animal, nothing I know of. It's unnatural and could have only been made by higher powers," he ascertained aloud, whether Sari had already known as much or not. And as to what these "higher powers" were, well, Mason could only guess.
Claws scraping in the snow, he retracted and unsheathed his curved claws repeatedly in thought. It wasn't him to get all worked up over something so trivial - but it wasn't trivial! This was something new; Mason knew he wasn't the superstitious or labeling type, but this was all to different. Blue eyes shining with the clarity of sunlight on ice, he dipped his head to Sari. He was getting more caught up in the inanimate than the breathing. Kinked tail swishing slowly, he growled politely, "Pardon my questionnaire, but I must ask now; why are you all alone up here?"
He knew for his kind to be solitary creatures, but nowadays he was finding more and more of the genus to at least be conversing with others of different species. And by the looks of it (in non-partisan judgement), Sari seemed to be the one who liked company whenever she could get it. Mason was slightly different in that respect, but it mattered not. Right now, he was just trying to make casual conversation.

x. excitement surged through the white leopard's body. what higher powers? sari was desperate to find out how this mysterious object had gotten here at all. her eyes stared thoughtfully at the object at her paws. with one out-stretched claw she retraced the markings that were embedded into it over centuries of being here, probably tossed around a few times. she pricked her ears as mason spoke again. "I'm always alone." answered sari, still observing the object in her hands. even though the image of the metal scrap was well in her mind, she kept observing. this may be one of the only time that she would come across something like this. "I don't see many leopards up in these mountains." the she-leopard said as she returned her honey eyes to the snow leopard. how long had she been away? she looked up to the sky, looking for where the sun was. the sky was clouded, and she couldn't detect where the sun was. a sigh escaped her maw as she looked back to the leopard.
